International Gathering of Shamans: France
April 27-30, 2023
Shamanism is a traditional practice that involves a practitioner reaching altered states of consciousness to perceive and interact with a spirit world and channel these transcendental energies into this world.
A shaman is regarded as having access to and influence in the world of benevolent and malevolent spirits, who typically enter a trance state during a ritual and practice divination and healing. Shamanism has gained increasing popularity in the West in a few decades, in the wake of the New Age and the self-actualization movements. Initiatory stays and festivals bring together more and more westerners looking for the meaning of life. They are attracted by the pillars of this neo-shamanism: spirituality, links with nature and community.
Shamans, elders and medicine men/women from all the continents gather under one roof and share their traditions -it’s a unique occasion to meet and know so many of them together. Nepal is also working to hold the same, most probably in 2024 though we had already projected for 2020 and had to postpone for genuine reasons that we all know.
