Learn Nepali Himalayan Shamanism
The Five Elements & Elemental Spirits
with Nepali Jhankri Shaman Bhola Banstola
Panchamabhuta - The Five Elements
This is an excellent opportunity to learn Shamanism directly from an established, authentic lineage that has been passed down for millennia, remaining a living tradition uninterrupted.
Bhola Banstola has been teaching internationally for decades. He has established himself as one of the rare teachers of traditional Shamanism, inspiring people from all cultures by teaching them the practices his family lineage has used successfully for many thousands of years. He is now offering his instruction and wisdom through Zoom, with live sessions and ongoing support as you progress in your path.
The live sessions will be interactive, allowing you to ask questions and receive immediate feedback. The ongoing support will ensure that you can continue your practice effectively even after the course ends.
Your journey begins with the Five Elements and the Elemental Spirits, which form the foundational base universally and, in particular, are closely tied to Nepal. Knowing and working with the elemental spirits means knowing oneself better and more deeply, as well as the planet we inhabit.

Once you have received the training in the rituals and ceremonies relating to the Elements, you can join Bhola’s Advanced courses, including work with specific Deities and how we use and develop our own internal energies to become more powerful and effective in our practice.
Event Details
There will be LIVE individual sessions dedicated to each Element and the associated Spirit, and then a Final Session combining all Elements together:
You will learn about Sansari Mai, the Universal Mother, and learn how to work with Bhumi Devi, the Earth Mother, Jala Devi(the water spirit), Agni Deo (fire spirit), Vayu Deo(wind spirit) and Dhumawati, the initiatory Spirit.
Each of the Elements has a corresponding Spirit that you will encounter, along with the directions they occupy, rhythms, colours, and sacred chants and their relevance to the functioning of the body and the environment.
Every session begins with an Opening Practice and concludes with a Closing Practice that can be integrated into everyday life.
1. Panchamabhuta: Earth Element
Sunday, January 25, 2026 | 7-9pm CET
We begin by examining the event of the Universe’s Creation itself, cosmology and cosmogony, the Earth Mother and relevant spirits, songs, rhythms, and rituals to honour and propitiate her.
2. Panchamabhuta: Water Element
Wednesday, February 25, 2026 | 7-9pm CET
The Water Element supports us in accepting our present situation, where and how we need to be fluid, and to honour the situation, let go, and heal our emotions and traumas. The participants learn the Water songs, relevant spirits, rhythm and ritual.
3. Panchamabhuta: Fire Element
Tuesday, March 24, 2026 | 7-9pm CET
Fire illuminates all the realms; it is rejuvenating, transmuting. It connects all the spheres, and is the element of death and rebirth, so essential within the cycle of creation, preservation and destruction. Fire is one of the primal spirits invoked and used by the shamans throughout the world. Fire-relevant rhythms, spirits, songs, rituals, and other practices will be transmitted.
4. Panchamabhuta: Air Element
Tuesday, April 21, 2026 | 7-9pm CET
Vayu, the Masculine Spirit of Air or Wind, manifests in several forms. Vayu is also the essence of our inner life force, our Prana itself, the Atma Vayu and the mind. Air relevant songs, rhythms, spirits, and ritual will be shared.
5. Panchamabhuta: Ether Element
Wednesday, May 20, 2026 | 7-9pm Canada Time
Akash, a super-element: the binding force that holds the other elements together. It is like Sky, like Emptiness. The mysterious realm of the Ether Element is home to Dhumawati, the Smoky Goddess of Dismemberment (Transformation), which is reached by a practitioner after travelling through other realms, such as the Naga Loka (the Naga realm), Earth, Water, Fire and Air.
All Elements Combined & Final Ceremony
Tuesday, June 23, 2026 | 7-9pm Scotland Time
We will create a Mandala of all the Elements, and participants will explore how to work with it and any specific element they wish to focus on. We will also explore the dismemberment process of Dhumawati and inner energies. Jhankri Shamans work with their Ista Deo (primary deity), Kul Deo (lineage or family deity), and Pitri Deo (ancestral deity). You will be able to explore what this means for your own practice and how to incorporate the Jhankri methods into your own cultural context.
Registration and Payment
I would appreciate a humble and humane contribution of US$250 (only) for all six sessions
(transfer and remittance at your own expense).
All the transmissions will be recorded to facilitate those who cannot join live due to different time zones. A Facebook group will be created for participants to follow up on the teachings, view the videos, discuss, and share their experiences.
